Honoring Women Who Inspire Change this Women’s History Month

March is Women's History Month—a time to honor the fearless women who paved the way for generations to come. Among these trailblazers is Nadine Ramos, CEO of Blessed Bananas. Her story isn’t just about success; it’s about resilience, faith, and the power of believing in something bigger than your circumstances.

From No Roadmap to a Revolution

Nadine’s journey began in the public housing projects of Manhattan’s Lower East Side, a world away from the multi-million-dollar empire she would one day build. She had no business connections, no funding, and no clue where to start—but she had an unshakable belief in herself. Life was anything but easy—her childhood was affected by her mother’s severe drug addiction, time spent in foster care, and the responsibility of caring for her younger sister. Yet, instead of letting hardship define her, Nadine turned it into fuel. She refused to be a product of her environment, choosing instead to create her own path forward.

A Chance Encounter That Changed Everything

At just 20 years old, an unexpected keratin hair treatment in a friend’s basement would alter the course of her life forever. Nadine trusted her instincts and dove in headfirst. She didn’t know where to begin, so she started asking questions, knocking on doors, and doing whatever it took to bring her vision to life. She sought out scientists, learned the ins and outs of product formulation, and launched Lasio Professional Hair Care.

She didn’t just enter the beauty industry—she transformed it. Without experience or a roadmap, she introduced Brazilian keratin treatments to the U.S. and built Lasio into a beloved brand among salon professionals nationwide. What started as an idea turned into an eight-figure business—all because she refused to let fear of the unknown hold her back.

Reinventing Haircare, Again

For Nadine, innovation has always been driven by curiosity. After watching her son's love for devouring bananas, she wondered what benefits this fruit could have for the scalp. That spark of curiosity led her to discover the incredible healing power of pure banana oil. As she dove deeper into the world of clean beauty, she heard a powerful message: people were craving high-performing, clean products. In October 2023, Nadine took a leap of faith, launching Blessed Bananas Hair Care—a sustainable, clean beauty line powered by banana oil, sourced directly from Florida’s sun-drenched banana farms.

Nadine is once again redefining the beauty industry, proving that luxury and sustainability can coexist. With no playbook, just determination and creativity, she’s on a mission to transform haircare with the natural power of bananas.

A Legacy of Empowerment

Nadine’s success is more than financial; it’s a mission. She is deeply committed to uplifting others, particularly women who come from backgrounds like hers. She mentors young Latina entrepreneurs, provides career and beauty workshops for foster youth, and actively supports the church that once gave her refuge. Her story has come full circle—not just surviving her past, but using it as a foundation to help others rise.

Women’s History Month: A Celebration of Possibility

Nadine Ramos is a living testament to what’s possible when determination meets purpose. Her journey is a reminder that where you start does not define where you’ll end up. You don’t need all the answers—you just need the courage to begin.

This Women’s History Month, we celebrate not just Nadine’s achievements, but the fire that drives every woman who dares to dream beyond her circumstances.
